Gears of War 2 will not be released until November 2008 but it is one of the most anticipated games of the year. All of us gamers are eagerly awaiting our next chance to take on the locust and save earth. This must be why the trailer and games play videos have be viewed so many times since they were released. I must admit I am one of the many people eagerly awaiting the arrival of the game this fall. So I've watched the game play videos and trailers a few times not. So here is what I know so far.

Epic Games, the makers of Gears of War, had taken the great storyline from the first game and continued it. This can be hard to do. We've all seen both game and movie sequels not live up to the ones that came before them but do far it looks like they've pulled it off.

Once again you're battling the locust that have invaded earth, and as those who played the first game know, this is not an easy task. It takes time and skill because there is always someone or something out to get you.

Luckily this time you get more ways to protect yourself. You can grab an enemy and use him as a shield. You can punch an opponent instead of just stomping him. The chain guy can now be turned over so you can chainsaw upwards. These are only the some of the new options that have been shown. I'm sure when the game comes out we'll find a lot of improvements. There will also be a lot of new enemies for you to battle so you will need all the help you can get.

Hopefully they will keep and improve on the great multi player options in the original Gears. You could play co-op via with two people on the same console so two people can battle the campaign (story mode) together. If you have four people you want to play with and two condoles you can connect them and all play together.

You also have the option of playing the campaign with a friend on line if you both have the game and a x box live gold account. Then of course there is the option to just play matches on line matches where two teams are against each other and you just run around trying to eliminate anyone who isn't on your team. It is a lot of fun.

As I said it's hard to review a game that isn't out yet. So I guess we will all have to wait until November and see if it lives up to the hype. Although as a huge fan I am fairly sure it will.

Note: Gears of War 2 is available for x box 360 and should be played by older teens and adults due to the content matter.
