Tropical Mania by Ovo Games
This is a new fast-paced game. You had better have your clicker finger ready. A short tutorial shows how to play the game. The player is trying to build a tropical resort. Keeping the clients happy is the ultimate goal, you move housekeeping, waitresses, nurses and food items, on a two object paddle, to the various huts. Completing a level is to fill five stars and placing extra huts into the play grid. The trial is 1 hour, in which I completed 11 levels; you can replay levels to better your score. Scoring is done by stars as with a hotel Bronze, Silver and Gold.
Game play is similar to Cake mania or Diner Dash with a twist, instead of completing a days worth of work, you must complete the work in the shortest amount of time. Interesting twist. Unfortunately, there is not a lot of action. There are no little people to move, only pictures. The more huts on the playing field, the more clients you get to serve. The food huts only make two items at a time and you must click again to refill the station. There are no power-ups to help you. There are bonus rounds, which are similar to the game itself. Bonus points are awarded by completing various tasks; you never see the bonuses you have completed. The music is soothing, playing repeatedly.
I would rate this game 2/5. This game would be very good for children. The game play is easy to understand, there is nothing violent involved. Younger children would benefit by learning how to use the mouse and how to watch all areas of the game field. Would this be a game to add to my library? Probably not. I found it very repetitive almost boring. There is very little change from level to level; you may place boats instead of huts. The graphics are good although nothing seems to move, but the paddle. For an adult or older teen player, I would not recommend it. The concept is good, but the delivery leaves a little to be desired. The download is quick and does not appear to take up a lot of space.
