As far as reparations go, I believe that those that deserve this are long gone. Yes, we owe to those that were enslaved. Needless to say, they assisted in the economic development of our nation by the labor they provided. They were brought here against their will and forced into slave labor. They are all dead and gone now and we must acknowledge their contribution to the growth of our nation. I do not believe the decedents of those individuals are due anything as far as reparations. The decedents reaped the benefits of those past individuals. Also take note that if that terrible period in our nations history had not happened then the majority of their decedents who now thrive in this great nation would still be strapped into poverty and violence that is going on in the nation wench they came.

After world war two an effort was made to return to the holocaust victims the belongings that were taken from them. The actions taken against their decedents during the war, robbed them of their future security and financial stability. Those people should receive justice for their loses. But, reparations for descendants of slaves are quite the opposite. Although the issue of slavery was a crime against those that were slaves, those that were born after slavery actually fared better then they would have, due to their sacrifices.

In our society it seems that everyone thinks that they should benefit by the sacrifices that those before them have made. Sadly those that sacrificed and suffered and should be given any reparations are long gone, it is sad that those that came after them feel that an injustice had been pushed onto them. If their case is just, then it only seems right that those of us that have lost love ones in the past due to wars should get something from the nations that caused the loss of our loved ones. Seems we have to many people in this world that cant prosper by their own blood and sweat and think that they should get a free ride on the back of those that came before them. Grow up people. If someone did you wrong and that wrong did damage to you of some type, then you have the right to receive fair compensation for your pain and suffering. Trying to receive reparations for the actions of someone in the past, is not only greedy, but a slap in the face of those who suffered.

Seems like most people cant or wont take responsibility for their own actions, but, expect to gain by the suffering of others. To many people have children and refuse to raise or educate them. Destroy cities and towns when they feel they cant get their way.Refuse to enhance their own lives and after all attempts have failed to get a free ride they cry reparations.
