Year after year, some households spend dollars and dollars with tinsels, lanterns, Christmas tree, ornaments, etc. just to create that spirit of Christmas. However, given some thought it is actually not how much you spent on buying your ornaments that give that warm Christmas ambiance but it's all in how you present your house.
Knowingly, all one has to buy are different kinds of paper, scissors, glue and whole lots of imagination and creativity. Here are a few ideas to set that Christmas mood without hurting your already painful pocket.
MERRY CHRISTMAS BANNER
# Cardboards
# Coloring medium (paint, glitters, crayon, etc.)
# Scissors
# String
# Hole puncher
What you have to do:
This is a simple one. Draw the letters of the phrase "MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR". Make sure to make the letters big enough to be seen even from a distance. A minimum of 6 inches in height is recommended. Cut the letters out to make individual letters. Color each letter in a different manner. You can simply paint each with a different color. You can put glitters on some. You can paint some with multiple colors. When decorating is done, punch a hole on each letters tip. For letters like M, Y, N, and H with more than one tip you have to put a hole on both tips so that the letter will not dongle out awkwardly. When all letters are punched, string them through to hold them as one. Now you can hang your handmade Christmas banner.
CHRISTMAS WREATH
You'll need:
# Green Crepe paper or party streamers
# Glue
# Scissors
# String of beads
# Old Christmas tree ornaments
# Cardboard
What you have to do:
On the cardboard, draw 2 circles the smaller one inside the bigger one. Try to make the smaller one 2 to 3 inches difference in diameter. Cut out what you draw. You should be coming up with a disk. Use a sharp pointed knife to remove the inner circle.
Now, we have to create our "feather boa" to wrap around the disk. If you are using whole crepe papers, cut them first in 1 and a half to two inches thick. If you are using party streamers you can cut them straight to the next step. Make several slices along one edge of the streamers, but not straight through. Leave about half an inch of entire width.
Make several "feather boas" to make a thicker Christmas wreath. Wound the "feather boa" around the disk. Make sure to apply some glue on intervals as you wound it around to keep it firmly in place. Make certain that the whole cardboard is completely covered.
When you've created a thick enough wreath, wound
