Why some girls want to change their appearance

Girls are often mislead to believe that they must look a certain way or their is something wrong with them.
No longer is it cool to be yourself, you have to be like everyone else.
Girls are bombarded with these images of super thin celebrities on a daily basis. All they see are these abnormally thin women getting great jobs, great dates, great attention and the list goes on.

Not once have I turned on the tv to see a average sized woman getting anything. Not a job or a guy or anything else. You might see the average or even chubby woman as a secretary or as a bitter obnoxious housewife but you won't see her as the person in power or the person everyone is wanting to be near.
On top of the unreality of most tv shows, commercials take up the rest of the time.Commercials promoting the latest and greatest diet pill or the new program to let you eat all you enjoy and lose weight.
Is it any wonder that girls think if they are not paper thin there is something wrong with them?
Is it any wonder that men think if a girl is not paper thin then she is just some lazy slob.
What is so wrong with being yourself? Nothing.
You do not have to be thin, blonde and tan to be beautiful.Regardless of what Hollywood would have you think.
There is nothing wrong with wearing makeup and dying your hair and wearing the latest trend.Just make sure the reason you do it is because you want to not because you think you have to just to fit in.make a place for yourself, the way you are.
Yes,I love to wear makeup and I color my hair every six weeks but I do it because it makes me happy, not because Hollywood tells me to do it.
I'm not thin and i'm never going to be.Yet I have family and friends that don't care about that.
If your friends can't accept you because you are yourself then it is time to find new friends.
