The Seven Most Powerful Steps to Success!

One of the most important things a success-oriented person can do in life is to develop good habits. These are the things you do so consistently and without thinking that they become an integral part of your basic personality. They become the momentum which propels you almost effortlessly through life while others remain directionless, confused and unsuccessful.

Following are seven of the most powerful habits you need to develop. Read them. Internalize them. And succeed in virtually any rational goal or endeavor.

#1 Always be guided by a goal. A goal gives purpose to life. But the goal must be specific. You must write it down and be able to verbalize it in 15 words or less. In addition, every goal must be accompanied by a general deadline for its achievement.

Goals without deadlines fail to provide a sense of urgency and thus can easily deteriorate into daydreams or just plain fantasies. Again, your goal must be specific, written down and include a deadline.

#2 You must have a success-plan. Whereas a goal gives purpose to life, a success-plan gives direction and focus to life. Your plan must include the specific steps you are going to take and the tasks which must be completed in order to achieve your goal. Then, you must operate according to that plan. (Of course, this assumes that you have done the basic research which gives you the knowledge of the steps and tasks needed to achieve your goal.)

In order to insure you are operating according to your success-plan, you must complete a daily "things-to-do" list which includes at least two tasks directly related to achieving your goal. Remember the adage: You either plan to succeed or you are planning to fail.

#3 - Be driven by strong belief. More than any other factor, our behavior is driven by what we believe. Indeed, it can be realistically stated that success in life goes most frequently not to the most deserving, the most beautiful or even the most intelligent but instead it goes to the most driven.

There are other factors determining behavior but the dominant one is strong emotional drive based on belief in what we are doing. Much more often than not, the emotionally driven person is the most successful person. The basis of emotional drive is strong belief and desire.

#4 Discipline. Flowing out of strong belief and strong desire is discipline. Discipline is the commitment and ability to do what needs to be done when (or even before) it needs to be done whether you
