Poetry: Overcoming challenges

Thinking back on all these moments,
Those times that wrote my book,
I begin to worry about the tomorrows,
But notice the past is where I look.

Without the fear, I drive forward,
Into the darkness I will not fall,
I've picked up the shattered pieces,
I've had to stand up from my crawl.

Cherishing each experience,
As a lesson quite well learned,
For life will always let us down,
We must rise when we are burned.

I've drawn back the blinds,
The sun's warmth surrounding me,
I'm consumed by self reflection,
While I'm setting myself free.
