Second chances come and we all just roll with what we are dealt. We just go along with whatever we are faced with on a daily basis.
I have never been one to believe that there was just somethings I couldnt control or accept that I couldnt do anything about the situation. A few weeks in the nicu changed me. I learned that the medical field had made big improvements and there was something behind every person who walked into those rooms. When our sick guy devoloped a life threatning virus we put our faith in those doctors hands.
By early morning when we called to check in they informed us that not much had changed overnight and we told them we would be in first thing before lunch time. On our way to the hospital we received a very disturbing phone call telling us we needed to get there just as soon as possiable. That phone call that all parents dread. Informing them we were just about 10 minutes away we would be there very shortly.
After scrubbing in and gowning up we walked in and the doctor came over and informed us that our baby had made a turn for the worse and that they didnt expect him to make it very much longer. The doctor said just one more thing to try and the rest was up to him, Telling us that our baby had all the control.
I asked for a preacher and wanted him to come and help us pray. A while later the preacher arrived and we prayed to give him the strength to get over this. We spoke to our baby and begged for him to get better. We needed him and gave him every reason to want to live. We sat vigilantly beside him for 2 days just talking and rubbing him when the doctor came to us and told us by some short miracle nothing to do with science he pulled through. Not without some damage though. I get my inspiration from my little guy who has tought me if he can achieve things and prove that not everything or everyone has control of a situation then I believe that everyone can be inspired by one another if just given the chance.
