"Prose to Vision"
All the way along my trails were exposed hills
and amid pastoral woods, one could eavesdrop in,
to the call of the wild while, the haze climbed over
each rock's sturdy crag. I find a peace led me onward,
to an isle of tall and supple; wall-like, dense rows of trees.
From cottage grounds I found myself, this day, woodland bound
and undisturbed by heat and breezes that daunted, to prevent
attractions course. I kept on until gloaming to valley recognized
memories of leisurely wants and my need for added light, brought
about toned down, soothing scenes.
Even the rocks began to echo nature's calm this day. Geckos
slithered lazily and dragonflies appeared in a daze. My spirit hunted
not for refuge but, then for a treasured finish to this journey.
And overcast skies alternated with crystal blue clear;
standby for promise, a promise of rain.
This lengthy day was full of meaning, from the sun at dawn,
to the stars at night. I heard a first dove's coo and a last blue jay's
trill. My spirit yet, roams the face of the hills while, sleep comes
coursing the hours of night. I rest learned; at ease. Settled now
from an untamed zeal; still, conscious of tomorrow's events.
