The sign is in the field of corn, and throughout the movie recognizing the signs can be as big as crop cirle or as small as a glass of water. M. Night Shyamalan, writes and directs the movie Signs in 2002. Mel Gibson is Rev. Graham Hess, he gave hope in God after his wife his hit by a truck while taking a walk. He is able to talk to her one last time, a rare gift that not many people get to have. She utters confusing messeges to her pastor husband, that he does not understand.
Graham's brother, Merill, played by Joequin Pheonix. He is an ex baseball player that was never a good hitter. He struck out a lot. Graham's two children, Morgan and Bo were played by Rory Culkin and Abigail Breslin. One suffered from asthma and the other had a problem with water. All of their faults and problems had a bigger purpose that became their strengths later in the movie.
Some people believe that crop circles are a sign from outer space, aliens, or more intelligent beings then us. Some believe that it is just a hoax from very creative pranksters. I think the use of crop circles were used as an in your face warning of what is to come. The pastor chose to overlook the circles as a messege and he thought that someone was messing in his field.
And if we are believers in things greater then us in this universe, why are we so quick to shut down ideas of crops circles as communication from outer space. We think people that talk to angels are crazy, we think people are nuts when they say God spoke to them. And when we hear a ghost story, we automatically think that it never happened. We get signs everyday of what might be out there beyond us, and we tune it all out.
I can think of many situations that started out not making sense, or not turning out how I wanted. Only to later see, after the fact that everything fell into place just as it should be. The signs were there, it is easy to go back and see what the signs were. The magic would be to see the sign and recognize or have faith in the outcome. You walk out to your car to see that you have a flat tire, it ruins your day. You were late for work and had to change it yourself. Maybe that was the sign that you were not to be on the road at that particular time.
The crop circle was biggest sign to be observed, and we need to know that we all have our own crop circles to see in our own way. Be aware of people around you, people you love. Listen, see, stop and take it in, or you might miss your sign to keep the faith.
