As we all know, water is one of the most important necessities for survival. Not only is water a necessity for humans, but for animals as well. Today, all around us, people are constantly misusing our water supply. Corruption has taken its toll and everyone is paying for it, literally. Look at the cost in power bills today. The cost just keeps going up with no sign of relief. Why? Our abuse of the rivers and lakes, and all the other natural resources on earth have made it more difficult for nature to replace the bad water with good.
What about agricultural chemicals, pesticides, and metals? Contamination is sure to follow if they migrate down into our water supply. Imagined that mixed in with toxic dump waste, litter, pharmaceuticals, personal care products, harmful algae, sewer waste, and oil spills.
What becomes of all this corruption to our water? There will be more people dying of diseases and born with birth defects than ever before. The harmful algae, cylindrospermopsis microcrystal, which is a blue-green algae, has been known for killing a large number of alligators in Palatka, Florida. It has also been the cause of serious and deadly tumors in people.
Did you know that dung from medicated farm animals makes it way to the water aquifer each time it rains?
Many people flush their unused pills down toilets everyday, thus adding to the corruption.
Here is something we don't think about. How about sunscreen chemicals, body lotions, perfumes, and colognes? Every time someone jumps into a pool, ocean, lake, or pond, they leave that in the water directly. As the pools are cleaned out, the water must be drained, and thus, the contamination then seeps down into the water aquifer.
With water being our main source of existence, it is with the up-most priority that the authorities must keep testing our water to tract of all the corruption that occurs to our ecosystem. Communities in third world countries strive to stay alive because of the lack of clean water supply. Imagine taking a bath and the water you use is contaminated. The unseen chemicals and other harmful elements that exist in the water are being absorbed into our skin. Think of all the impurities that enter our bodies when we drink the water or when we cook our meals. It does not matter how much we filter or what kind of filters we use, there will always be some kind of invisible corruption to our water supply. Keeping track of it is the key. As citizens of earth, we need to take care of her for the generations to come. Our health depends on clean water, and perhaps we can save lives by developing higher quality filtration systems in the near future.
