Poetry: The voiceless

by Elizabeth Reeves

Created on: August 11, 2008

The trees dance
They throw out their arms
and sway, majestic in the wind
They toss their heads
Bending to the root
Wading through the ripened earth
Twisting, bucking
Crying out in voiceless pain
Torn and thrown
Scattered
They lie in agony
A century's reminder
of their deaths
