Make these for whenever you want to enjoy the taste of authentic Chinese cuisine without having to reach for the take-out menu!
Easy Authentic Egg Rolls
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 lb ground lean pork
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 medium onion, minced
2 green onions, finely chopped
5 cups cabbage coleslaw blend
1/2 teaspoon powdered ginger
1 tablespoon soy sauce
salt
pepper (I used a lot)
15 egg roll wraps
water
Directions:
Heat the oil in the skillet. Saute garlic and onions until tender. Add the pork to the mixture to the pork and saut until browned. Add coleslaw in the skillet and stir-fry on high heat about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add seasonings, salt and pepper to taste. To assemble, place 2 tbsp of the filling near the corner towards you and then fold the left and right sides. Dampen the edges of the corner that is facing away from you, and finish rolling. Deep fry the egg roll at 350 F until golden brown. Drain the egg roll on paper towels. These can even be frozen and fried at a later time.
These egg rolls are tasty and delicious on their own, and perfect with sweet and sour sauce. These can be prepared so easily in your very own home and others will never know the difference between home made and authentic Chinese egg rolls. These are fantastic to be served as appetizers, or as a side dish when you have company over for dinner, and your guests will surely polish them off in no time!
