When I make sauces, I prefer to eyeball quantities, taste, and add more where necessary. Consequently, the following measurements are just approximations:
Honey BBQ Sauce:
2 cups of ketchup (Heinz preferably)
1 1/2 cups of molasses
3/4 cup of honey
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. red pepper
1 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 tsp. all spice
These can be mixed cold, but I prefer to do the following:
Mix ketchup and molasses in sauce pan over low heat
Stir in red pepper, cayenne pepper, and all spice
Simmer for 5 minutes or so
Stir in honey
Simmer for 5 more minutes
Stir in Brown sugar
Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring periodically.
