When there is chemistry between the sexes, great things can happen. When a great man comes into our lives, it changes everything. A great man has a way of bringing the best out in us.

Three years ago, I was stuck in a rut. Post-divorce and heading in circles with out any form of direction in my life. I was no longer motivated in my personal or professional life. The same hum-drum every day, basically functioning on auto-pilot day in and day out. I no longer worried about being on point when it came to my appearance. The last thing I was looking for was a relationship of any kind.

Then one day, I met Rick. Little did I know that this chance meeting would change the course of my life. Our initial meeting was spent hanging out as friends. We spent the evening hanging out on the couch talking. However, as time passed, I began to realize how much I enjoyed talking to this man. Intrigued by his personality and confident air, there was something about him that pulled me in. We spent hours talking about our experiences, travels, relationships, our dreams and what we were seeking in our lives. At 4:30am, we realized that we had pretty much bounced back and forth all night off of what we had in common. I was in awe of this man as I laid my head on the pillow and fell asleep.

I woke up the next morning with a refreshed out look on life as a whole. Looking in the mirror I asked myself, "why have you been hiding all this time?". For once, I was realizing how I had been missing from my own life. Rick had sharpened my mental edge and out look on life. Here was a man who was content, yet seeking and striving to obtain dreams and goals.

For the last three years, we have been developing our friendship. He inspires me to succeed. Because of him, I want to do better. I have found a true friend who doesn't sugar coat the issues when it comes to life. He gently tells me the truth about myself, never judging, but giving supportive insight. He's the type to talk to you and 'give it to you straight', yet you don't realize he's mentally kicking your butt into gear.

He has helped me to see and value my self worth as a woman. I no longer look at myself in a negative way. Even the flaws in my body I now appreciate and embrace with a new appreciation. He has shown me how truly beautiful I am, inside and out. I now take pride in my appearance, even on the days that I'm vegging out on the couch. There is beauty in being natural and I've learned that cosmetics and clothes do not define one's beauty.
