Victimless Crimes is there really such a thing?
Maybe if we all lived in a vacuum air bubble, some crime could then be called victimless.
But is hard to separate our action as to cause and effect where its concerns other people.
However there are some thing that we call crimes that may be waste of time and man power.
There are lots of people in jail today who are victims of their own stupidity.
Failing to rule their own domain ,as one of our leading comedians once commented.
It is often our physical appetites that get us into trouble.
We continue to use and ingress any number of troublesome substances.
We take normal impulses that should be use to fulfill our need for food and water
and some how our moronic brains substitutes with some time serious consequences
Starting with over eating, using alcohol, smoking, drugs, both illegal and prescriptions
And then there is sex !
Sexual desire is a legitimate human condition. Needful for the survival of the species.
However Society has rightly put limitations and has express rules
that should govern decent human behavior.
We want to limit sex to consenting non-relating adults ,
yet we do every thing we can to discourage this behavior especially if it involves money.
Would it be better if prostitutes were registered adults,
who are checked for disease regularly , offered alternative
careers training and protection from the psychos that prey on them.
Perhaps it would be better to take a look at the lesson we learned with prohibition.
They tried to banish alcohol which is a substance that is seldom beneficial to anybody.
It did not work and cause a great deal of law breaking on the public part
as well as profit making for the crooks.
A civilized society has to have order, always needs to draw a line in the sand and set some boundaries.
So they repealed laws that were creating an entire class of criminals
and decided the best approach was to pass laws
that would govern who, how , when and where we could drink.
They set age limits,
as we have found it was best to limit young adults access to alcoholic drinks.
We demand that those who drink don't drive vehicle while under the influence.
If you honestly evaluate the use of alcohol today there are more things to be listed on the
negative side than on the positive. A social drink after a hard days work may be
relaxing but drinking until you get so relaxed that you can't get off the floor
puts drinking over in the negative column
Proverbs from the King James tell us that "Give strong drink unto him
that is ready
