Sometimes I wonder if true love exists? A few times in my life I have seen that thing that I have been looking for for as long as I can remember. It is an old couple or a young couple but you know they are in love and that each time they look at one another they know that they are lucky to have that person in their life. It is all in the eyes, just the way they glance at one another or touch eachother. It is unconditional, it is beautiful, it is what each and every person longs for on this earth.
There is something I hear quite often from many different people, it is something I do not believe in and I will not fall for it. It is that saying that mairriage and relationships are a lot of work, that every day they don't always feel happy to wake up next to their husband or wife but that they love them and are devoted to them. That's all fine and dandy for them but I don't think things have to be that way. Why would you put so much work into loving somebody? Is it really worth it in the end? Yes I know in the beginning of all relationships there is those fireworks and those sparks and all those good feelings. Sometimes I wonder what happens to all those? When do you wake up from this feeling and start to work at things because it is so much work to be around this person when six months ago you never wanted to leave their side?
I am searching for answers to these questions I have about love. I am on a non stop mission in my life to find that one person who will always have that effect on me. A person who will continue to look at me with fire in their eyes, a person who will not have to work so hard to love me. I believe it is out there, that tender love that never dies, the kind of love that you see when you see that old couple staring into eachother's eyes with the passion they had fifty years ago when they met. I don't think there needs to be work there, I don't think it should be a struggle to wake up next to this person day in and day out for life. Some things in life you have to work at but love should not be one of them. I believe that love is a gift given to us from above, we should not throw this gift away, we should not make it out to be painful or laborous or evil.
I believe that all those people who are divorcing and struggling and staying in abusive relationships and cheating on their spouse or lover are with the wrong person. You see I have stopped looking and I have stopped fighting to find that person. I think only a few people get the chance to meet that one that will always be in their life, that one true love who is meant to be with them. Reason I believe this is because I have seen it. I have seen it twice in my twenty nine years. I can say I don't think my parents have met that person, not either of them have met that person. They are both married again but they still tell me that I will have to struggle and work to stay with a man. I don't think I should have to fix myself or work hard to have someone love me conditionally. I have seen it though, I have seen those people who have looked at one another as they did the first day they met.
It is out there, true love is out there! And when I say true love I mean unconditional, loyal, tender love. Love you don't need to work to keep, love that makes you realize how lucky you are, love that inspires you, love that moves you, love that changes you. Yes I am going to find it and if I don't I am going to die alone because I am on a life long mission and I am doing it alone and I am happy but still missing that one piece that I might be lucky enough to find one day....
