The Basics of Skin Care
Cleansing
Skin that is luminous, healthy and conjures up images of peaches and cream doesn't happen by chance. Heredity, of course, takes some credit for those that have naturally glowing skin that rarely erupts. But as any beauty experts will attest to, it takes a diligent and committed skin care routine to insure our best possible hope for a perfect complexion.
While we wait on science to figure out the creation of a magical pill that will give us that firm, wrinkle free, and eternally smooth baby soft skin, we must rely on our discipline. Proper care and healthy eating habits will promise our skin it's best chance.
The very first and most important step of setting our daily skincare routine is proper cleansing. Let's take a closer look at something that seems so simple, yet so many people do wrong.
Cleansing
1.Gentle Cleanser ~ Clean skin does not equal harsh cleanser. There are some excellent cleansing products with many more new and improved being created every minute. Choose the right product for your skin type. Specifically choosing a milder and more organic cleanser will insure your optimum skin cleansing. Organic products and ones that contain natural ingredients are always best. Don't be afraid to experiment with homemade cleansers as well, they are full of vitamins and natural agents that will leave your skin glowing and with less chance of irritation, and might save you a fortune in the long run.
2.The Motion ~ Start with a little dab of cleanser in the palm of your hand and gently rub hands together to create a light foam. Putting cleanser directly onto face without making sure it's evenly distributed into your hands first. Evenly, and in a gently circular motion begin cleansing your face. Make sure to take your time and avoid getting too close to eyes.
3.The Rinse ~ Water temperature should be tepid, never hot or too cold. Splash onto face and rinse thoroughly without rubbing face hard. Always be gentle. Facial skin is very delicate and needs careful care not to aggravate. Many a fine line has been born by too harsh cleansing.
4.The Pat ~ Once face has been cleansed thoroughly, use a soft towel to pat dry. Pressing the towel firmly into face without rubbing will help lock in moisture without irritating.
5.How Often? ~ Your face should be cleansed no more then twice a day. In the morning upon rising and always before you go to bed. NEVER sleep in makeup.
