Finding a good man begins with you.
Men and women are truly different in most all aspects. Sounds like a cliche', but it is a fact. Finding a good man can be as easy as finding an answer on the Internet, or as hard as finding the winning lottery numbers.
When you begin to search for a man, you must first decide what it is that you want in a man. Is he to be the strong, silent type? Or is he supposed to be the mealy mouthed, easily manipulated kind of guy? There must be hundreds of types of guys in this world, but which one is yours? Finding a good man begins before you look with your eyes.
If you frequent the local bar scene, and find a man there, be ready for what comes next. Rarely do guys hang out in bars looking for Ms. Right. If you happen to find the man of your dreams there, be careful with your expectations. Some guys will stop the bars, while others will expect you to understand that this is his lifestyle. Can you, and will you?
Online dating sites are like the crane game at the bowling alley. You can see the prize you want, but rarely do you get it on the first try. Be very careful with this venue. Photo altering programs can make someone's picture look different than what they really look like. Stay away from any professionally shot pictures.
A man that speaks highly of himself should be left to doing just that...talking to himself, about himself. Watching a man's body language and mannerism around women is usually a good indicator of how he will treat you. Examine him in different settings, like at a bar or other crowded gathering. Watch him in small scenes as well. A genuine person will be the same in every situation, regardless of who's watching them.
Probably the safest way to meet the man you are looking for, is thru your network of friends. You will hang out in informal settings and really see how people act and react. Barbecues and similar outings can be very good places to find a good man. Just don't let your friends play matchmaker for you. You know what you want better than anyone else.
Being a man, it is easy to see what men want in a woman. Men like a woman who looks to a man for security. It is a part of the man's makeup to be the provider and protector. A woman that takes the lead early in the relationship is usually a turn off. Wait until there is some time elapsed and the situation warrants taking over. A strong minded and woman is a turn on if done correctly.
Whether you are looking for a husband, or just a good friend, make sure that you know what you want. Make sure to stick to your guns. Don't fall for prince charming on the dance floor until you know a little about him. Make sure that he isn't going to turn into a pumpkin at midnight, like the chariot in that famous fairy tale. Patience is a virtue. Having fun is one thing, but having a relationship is a commitment that shouldn't be taken lightly. There are plenty of good men to be found, you just have to know what to look for, and where to look.
