To answer this question fairly, we must first understand a few basic standards: What priest represented in the biblical days and also what was the law set before God's people concerning this lifestyle. Once we understand these standards, we're able to make a well-informed decision about what is allowed for God's priest.

The High Priest of the bible represented the perfect holiness of God. Priest could only enter into the Holy of Holies, a place in the tabernacle where God's manifest presence and glory shown, once a year. The Lord gave his priest strict guidelines of how they were to act and lead his people and if so much as an article of clothing was out of place, God would fry him like a bucket of Popeye's Chicken.

Now you're probably thinking, "oh wait stop the train! That's kind of harsh isn't it? That's right, God wasn't playin' that because it was serious business to come into his presence with anything less than perfection. The High Priest could not drink any wine, nor have any physical defects. They also had to be perfectly decked out with an ephod and embroided tunic. They were the mediators for God and intercessor for sins of the people; therefore they surely couldn't be involved in any sinful lifestyle themselves.

ONLY RIGHTEOUSNESS ALLOWED IN GOD'S PRESCENCE

The High Priest was actually chosen by God himself, having to follow his laws and the Ten Commandments. The seventh commandment says, "You shall not commit adultery". Research details "any" sexually behavior outside marriage relations between a man and woman, is forbidden. Leviticus 18:22 says, "Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is an abomination." And abomination is not a "good thing" for all those out there who love to misinterpret scripture.

Even the New Testament says that men who were inflamed with lust towards one another will receive in themselves their due penalty for their perversion, cast into the Lake of fire that burns with fire and brimstone, forever. So we know that the priest of the bible were suppose to be representing God, mediating for the people, upholding his law and delivering repentance through animal sacrifices for the people.

So with this knowledge and understanding of the standards of God and his law handed down to his priest, how in the world is God going to all a sudden authorize the very thing he condemned in his own word. He's not! You'd sooner see Elvis come back from the dead, singing "You ain't nothin' but a sucka". How in the world can real Christians
