Poetry: Passion

by C E Goulden

"For You"

I witness the earth by small pieces;
To acres upon acres, leading to hills;
Then, come mountaintop
Where, Heaven sleeps in wildflowers
Ah! To clutch infinity
Would my palm open from my hand?
Would it bring eternity to your hour?
I offer you passion
(meant for all that you may well desire)
And romantic fondness right through to my devotion
Is always meant for you
