Summer Garden Composition
Summer is an artist. This morning her fresh canvas,
across the fields, across the village, from corner to corner,
she paints every part of life further than I can view.
The trees surrounding me capture her green
as well as, an overturned old bucket being patina rich;
this grower repeats a medium for my jade Artemisia,
an extract from my gardens breathing;
spills over into my rose bed and inhibits weeds;
in sections and as verse the stray sunlight spins then
changes direction until spray of tone bears trace,
as an aftertaste of what is holy.
Summer with its brush draws shadows
definitely designed for me.
By waves and of her motion the silhouettes take life
and then, forms shelter;
her cover, undimmed, lifts nature to my door.
I've collected Summertime's layers and as an overlay wrapping
across my images
she wholly brings artistic quality to a day across the fields,
surrounded by hills and within a village.
Oh! So quaint and sincere, this day broadcast by degrees.
