dark voices within the storm, they will quiet your fear. "
"The storms don't want people to be afraid of them, and when they are, they become angry. The more people are afraid of them, the angrier they become. But rather than linger and rage, the move on, in search of someone that does not fear them."
"When understood that I could speak with the thunders, I was no longer afraid. That's when they send me this gift."
"You will have it too, when you quiet yourself and listen to the many voices of the thunders. If you listen closely and are not afraid, they will notice you and send you the gift."
"There is also another secret you may have. Once they know that you believe and are unafraid, you can hear them sing. Their songs are quite moving and powerful. They fill my spirit with joy. I know they will do the same for you one day, as well."
Marcus believed his mother and couldn't wait for the next time the thunders came to call on his mother. He would quiet his fear and listen closely to hear their song. He would share the moment with his mother and together they would receive the gift of the orb.
Marcus's mother died before the thunders came again. Now, only Marcus could receive the gift, and tonight the sky was clear, adorned only by the moon, draped in an eerie fog. He had a mission ahead of him.
In the window above him, the Watchlight seemed to blaze a bit brighter as if to illuminate a path towards the town ahead. It was time for Marcus to begin his journey.
