Without a doubt, exercise is the best medicine for a great many health problems. Popping pills is always easier than exercising, but pills have side effects and some of them are not good. So it's better to take the healthy way out and exercise for health and put those pills away. Of course, some pills are absolutely necessary for us to take and we should always keep that in mind. Sometimes pills and exercise together are the solution.
A lot of health conditions, such as high cholesterol, can be treated with exercise alone. At least exercise should be tried before popping pills. Also, with high cholesterol, you should watch your diet. If this doesn't bring your cholesterol down, then pills might be the answer. If you have insomnia, be sure to exercise several hours before bedtime because if you exercise too vigorously at bedtime you could find yourself not able to sleep.
There are so many types of exercise equipment. And there are so many kinds of exercises you can do all by yourself without any aids. Of course, you have to select your type of exercise to fit the problem. A glider exercise machine is great if you have knee problems or a bad back. Since it glides back and forth there is no strain put on your knees or back. Gliders are a wonderful relaxing exerciser too because you can glide to your heart's content while watching TV or listening to your iPod.
Running is also a good exercise. You don't have to buy any equipment and you can run out of doors in the beautiful sunshine and enjoy yourself. You can run according to your ability and running is good medicine for your whole body. It will help loosen you up and give you better stamina. Of course, you have to do the exercise that works for your particular problem. For instance, running on a hard pavement would not be the exercise for someone with bad knees. Treadmills are wonderful because you can walk or run on them and it doesn't matter how bad the weather is. You can walk or run, rain or shine. And if you have treadmill in your home, you don't even have to go anywhere.
Check on the Internet and ask your doctor what would be the best exercise for you. Remember that pills are wonderful, but if possible consider increasing your exercise first; exercise can be the best medicine and there are no bad side effects when done properly.
There are simple little exercises you can do too for all kinds of health problems. Go on the Internet and see what is recommended for your problem and go to it. You'll see that if you exercise, you'll lose all that stiffness and you will be able to walk around much better and with little or no pain.
It's easy to take a pain pill and forget about exercising. But those pain pills won't solve anything in the long run. All they will do is lessen the pain for the moment, but exercise will help your pain for a longer time. Sometimes with regular exercise you can get rid of your pain for good.
There are all kinds of exercise equipment you can buy for your home or if you wish you can join a health club and take advantage of a variety of different equipment. If you are new to exercise, start out slowly at first because your body won't be used to the exercise. But as you do it regularly, you will see that you can exercise longer and you'll feel much better.
