Home Fragrances
This is a very good question! I don't think many of us take under consideration how harmful some of these products are. Our nose will lead the way, especially if a great smell is involved.
I will admit that a lot of them do smell very good. Some are sensual to flower smells. I have very bad sinuses which I find that some of these products are very irritating for me. I've used many, from airfresheners to aerosol sprays to candles. The sprays have a good smell, but with the chemicals in them make it hard for me to breathe and my nose constantly drain. So, those I've removed from my list of many items.
Of course the aerosol sprays have directions on useage. But it doesn't matter if it is harmful. Though they have important notices on the can about inhalant abuse and if one gets it in their eyes. There's more on the can about the precautions than what's in the can. First there's the vanilla, roses fragrances, etc. But the ones I have checked when I use to purchase them, there were no other ingredients except the fragrance. I do know that the ones years and years ago, had contained some sort of alcohol and other dangerous substances.
Candles are not so bad. The ones that are created now a days are much more perfumed. Though the smells are wonderful, still with the flame, other than being careful with candles, there's a smell that the wick gives of. Still I find the candles are nice, though. Plus they can improve the smell of your home, and they are very decorative! Many of us enjoy a nice candle or two.
The hanging aren't so bad. At least there's the clear paper that allows one to expose only the amount of the aroma that one would need. Then as the fragrance fades, can be adjusted again. This keeps one from being exposed to a, too harsh of the scent.
There are from incense to the now timed ones and to some of these, they can be harmful ,especially for children. Being exposed , to breathe some of these in the lungs for a long time, could cause cases of asthma and other lung disorders.
However there are many natural items that can be used. They are called "Nature". One that I particularly like are the dryed scented leafs. One can find a big bag of these at a dollar store. They smell just wonderful. One can place a handful in a small decorative clear bowl. You can choose to place these around in different rooms as well. This fills the air with fragrance.
Then there is the small crock pot that is desigened for you to place water in and then place the amount wanted of these leaves into the pot. You plug the pot in and when the water heats up, it sends a beautiful aroma through the home. Go all natural!
I find that this is the safe way. Go all natural the right way.
