Designer fragrances, why are they so popular?
A simple question with a simple answer.
The word "Designer".
The women of today often want to compare themselves to celebrities.
Celebrities like Sarah Jessica Parker, who has come out with women fragrances,
has been a fashion icon to the women of the world.
Her role in Sex and the City, has brought much attention to her style in every which way. Celebrities ,like Parke,r are viewed as role models and are often imitated. Her hair, clothing, shoes, hand bags, and now fragrances.
Is there really a difference between designer fragrances and regular fragrances?
By quality maybe, but they are made all the same ways. Some may even find a regular fragrance
that smells identical to a designer fragrance for half the price but still buy the designer fragrance.
Most women will still buy the designer fragrance because it gives off the illusion
that the have something that a celebrity has. Women will feel it is truly better because
of the designer label, and that is exactly the point of the retailers. Stores will sell more
designer fragrances because of the marketing tool, celebrities.
The popularity of designer fragrances revolve around the thought of feeling like a
celebrity because you are in fact wearing a designer item that most people could never afford.
It also revolves around how the media makes women feel like they need these products to better
themselves and feel more attractive to th opposite sex.
Attracting men is a huge media tool used towards women.
Most women dream of having that dream guy in their lives. So if well known and beautiful
celebrities who have a man in their lives, like Sarah Jessica Parker, is bringing out a new designer fragrance that will supposedly "allure" men, they will no doubt purchase the fragrance. Advertisers will often use the insecurities of today's women to buy their items.
In this case, smelling incredible, is used to increase male attention and make women supposedly
feel better about themselves. Simply putting the thought of feeling beautiful and attracting a man will capture the interest of most women around the world who have a low confidence level, and who think a designer fragrance will help them.
So in conclusion, why are designer fragrances so popular?
Simple question, simple answer.
The word "designer".
