Understanding men commences with the acceptance of one principle. " Action". The truth lie in a man's actions, not his words".
Men are not difficult to understand. In fact, they are simpler than women because men are direct.
If you want to understand men better, look at what they do and how they act. You may see things from their point of view. Men grow up differently than women. They are often taught from a young age not to show emotions. They are taught that crying is a sign of weakness. They have a different way of perceiving life and know it is important to be able to have money. Aside from the way they are raised, they are just programmed differently Here are some of the ways.
1) Men are natural hunters. They are gatherers. This is something men have done since the beginning of time. They love to pursue things. The longer the chase, the better. Hunters also provide. This is why man men associate their self worth with how much money they make. The more money they make, the better they feel about be able to give back to their families.
2) Men love challenges. That's why more men love sports than women. Men love to compete for prizes and trophies. They enjoy getting there friends together to see who can burp the longest.
3) Men tend to see the whole picture rather than the small details. This may explain why some men don't see small things that could mess them up. They are so focused on the main goal.
4) Men are natural problem solvers. When a woman comes to them with a dilemma there first instinct is to find a solution to the problem. This can cause static in a relationship, because a woman may not want a solution right then and there, she way want to just talk it out first.
5) When men are upset about something, they tend to "shut down". This happens because a man is busy figuring out how he can solve the problem. He "shuts down" to way the pros's and con's of each.
A woman can put herself in a mans position, by doing something called "role reversal". This is the process of changing places with your partner in order to better comprehend them. It's like acting. You both take the place of your partner. It's rather entertaining as well. This can be done on the phone, but it is more effective in person. Trust me when I say this works. If you two do this once a week, you will begin to have more compassion for your partner. For example, if your husband asks you to take the garbage out. You might find yourself responding from a more compassionate place. Try this.
Overall it's not that difficult to understand men. I would recommend you reading " Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus by Dr. John Gray. This is very good book. It focuses on how men think and why they think the way they do. It also gives relationship advice on how to better communicate with your spouse. You will find a new world open up for you about men.
