Exercise is the key to good health

Exercise really is the best medicine! Thirty minutes of moderate exercise every day can alleviate so many medical problems that a pill can't possibly cure. And many times, taking one of those pills every day can lead to more problems. Did you read the list of problems taking just about any medication can cause these days. Sometimes you are better off, not taking any medication and just trying to work out everyday.

Exercising every day brings out positive endorphins throughout your body. Your brain sends chemicals to your body and positive hormones are released. This makes you feel better than you did before. Many people are trying exercise these days in an attempt to fight off depression, diabetes and even high blood pressure. In some cases check with your doctor before trying a new exercise program and forgoing medication.

Being overweight does not mean you have to take a weight lose pill. Sometimes all you have to do is go for a walk five days a week. Walk outside if at all possible and get that much needed fresh air. A change of environment will do you good and with those positive endorphines flowing you will feel so much better also. Walking can help alleviate depression. A fast paced walk through the neighborhood, or at the beach can be a great help. Walking in a more natural surrounding, while listening to the birds singing, and seeing squirrels and chipmunks scurrying around brings your senses into play and makes you feel better.

Trying yoga can be the best from of medicine also. Yoga not only stretches your body but it also stretches your mind. Yoga is a wonderful exercise for just about everyone. There are yoga exercises where a person doesn't end up in a pretzel formation that can make you feel relaxed thus helping with insominia, depression, arthritis, and even allergies.

Exercising in the water is a great way to not put any stress on your body thus enabling you to get some exercise. Water exercise can be done with or without water weights to add some resistance to help build more muscle and burn more calories. Working out in the water can be a wonderful way to help with back pain, and arthritis pain. It's also a fun way to work out and meet people in an exercise class. Many times the YMCA has water classes where people dance in the water to great, fun music. It's also a great way to meet people and make friends.

Swimming also helps to alleviate allergies. It must be something about the water that helps, but when I go swimming every summer and fall, my sinus allergies actually get better. The water helps to stop the sneezing, my nose from running, and I can breath better. Besides the water action and the chlorine working on my allergies, the swimming and moving around in the water aids my sinuses in becoming clearer. It must be the movement that does it. If that doesn't work, a brisk walk always seems to help. Besides exercsing certainly beats taking a medication that makes me feel like falling asleep all day long.

Instead of popping a pill, try doing some exercise first. Besides doctor recommended exercise doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg, and some moderate forms of exercise don't come with a list of symptoms like sleepiness, insomnia or hair loss.
