If you've remembered the date and know the correct number of years (or months) you've been married (or dating), you are already far ahead of many men searching for an anniversary gift. Now, all you have to do is not blow the points you've accumulated.

Of course, you can never go wrong with gold and diamonds. Fine jewelry thrills a woman no matter what the occasion. However, if your budget's not that large, the easiest way out of you dilemma is to give red roses, which mean love - one for each year (or month) you've been in this relationship. Not only will you have an appropriate, romantic gift, your local florist will handle the delivery to your beloved for you wherever she may be.

Another route to follow is giving a gift consisting of the year's traditionally designated material.
#1 - Paper - a handwritten love letter will do quite nicely
#2 - Cotton - a T shirt with a special message
#3 - Leather - a scrapbook filled with pictures of the two of you
#4 - Fruit & Flowers - Back to the florist
#5 - Wood - Picture frame surrounding a favorite picture of you two
#6 - Candy/Iron - There's a confectioner in almost every sizeable town or city
#7 - Copper/Wool - Jewelry/Sweater
#8 - Bronze/Pottery - Jewelry/Bowl
#9 - Pottery/Willow - Vase, Planter or Umbrella stand/Basket
#10-Aluminum/Pewter - Serving dish, picture frame, statue

Anniversaries provide you with a legitimate opportunity to explore those trendy gift shops in the fashionable part of town. Before you embark on such an adventure, however, be sure you're familiar with your lady love's tastes. Take note of colors she likes to wear. See if hear ears are pierced or whole. Is she the classical, traditional woman or the more adventurous, avant garde type?

If your finances pale in comparison to your love, then writing the love poem or letter, by hand, extolling her virtues or describing what she means to you is the most economical way to touch her heart. Cooking the anniversary dinner is another thoughtful option.

As long as you are sincere and observant, you should have no trouble presenting her with a gift that she'll treasure as much as she does you.
