Reflections: Self awareness

Thimble Full of God
If someone could tell me that I could have anything my heart desires.
Perhaps my fairy godmother could come along and wave her golden wand.
I chould suddenly find that magic Aladdins lamp and get finally get my chance to make a wish.
I already know what I would ask for. I want a Thimble Full of God.
I think that would be all the divine a mere mortal could handle at one time.

I have found over the years that seeking after God can sometimes keeps you going around in circles. When you get back to point A, you sometimes find you know even less about God then you did when you first started on your spiritual quest. They say that when the pupil is ready a teacher will appear. Some times the teacher may come in person some times they come in the form of writting that shed some light on the darkest days We often have found our ways with sign posts we find in our holy scriptures. But we also find a source from deep with in us. There are times we need to with draw from the world and find our quiet place. It may not be on a mountain top, or in the midst of a green pasture but we all need a place where we can shut out the cares and problems and still our mind. Some of us can find the place in a church others can sit in a row boat on a quiet steam. We are told prayer is talking to God, but a quiet meditation gives God a chance to talk to us.

I am hopeful that there is more to me than this physical body.
Life should be more than being born, living a life of quiet desperation. Death as the end sounds so final . All men are not created equal and life as we know it will never be considered fair. There has to be a place in the universe where good people can finally end up. Their tears will be wiped away, their bodies made whole and new. Their needs will be met and they will have opportunity to create better world with God. Poverty, Sickness, Ignorance,
Selfishness won't be allowed. A man will be able to keep what he earns from his labors. For all the war makers, greedy politicians, thieves, murderers, child molesters will have been
changed or eliminated. The whole universe is a orderly place. There are laws that effect cause and effects. Things have a beginning and a end.

I want death to be a graduation and a new beginning.
For all that is physical decays and the older you get and the longer you live, the faster is the decay. What a waste it would be if all our small sparks of wisdom and insight were just lost when the physical body dies. Are any of our thought collected some where in the universe?
These little bites of data collected like a magnet collects nails.

Do you ever wonder where we were, when we were not here in the flesh.
If we are only animated by the breath of God, will He then sucks us back in as he once blew us out. Consider a cup of water that is taken out of the ocean.
While the water is in a cup it is self contained.
Once it is poured back into the ocean again it has no individuality, but it becomes part of the whole again. Perhaps God is an ocean and I am but a cup of water. Waiting hopefully to find my way back to the sea. If I was poured into another container maybe this time a bottle, would I be any less sea water. I might get poured into several different containers but eventually I would always be reunited with the ocean.
So I would like a thimble full of God to hold in my hand, so that I could feel the awesome power of the ocean. A thimble full of God would contain so much light, knowledge and wisdom that it would be all my limited consciousness could ever hope to comprehend.
