Are we surrounded by spirit in this world, most definitely. I have always had a strong faith, but when I was a teenager I did not give much thought to life after death. Like all youngsters all I wanted to do was enjoy life. As I got older life's experiences taught me there is more to life than just existing from day to day. And the more good we do to others the better our souls will be equipped for when our time comes. Love is the key like everything else thats good. Its the only thing in this world that NEVER dies even after death. Believe that and its logical to suppose the our loved ones will want whats best for us and influence events in our world as much as they can to support us. My husband and I have been married for twenty seven years and the first house we bought was visited regularly by the spirit of the lady who had lived in the house all her life. Her parents had rented the house originally, and when they died she stayed on. She took in a lodger who she used to cook dinners for. She was very fond of strong smelling vegetables like swede and cabbage when she was alive. Her lodger became her husband but when he died she carried on cooking the dinners for him as she was suffering from dementia. She eventually went into a Nursing Home where she died, when the Police broke in they found plated of congealed dinners all over the place. The first we knew of her presence was when we had the overpowering smell of cooking vegetables on a sunday, that reeked the place out. Then after I had found I was pregnant with our daughter, I used to leave the curtains open in the bathroom at night. It had originally been a third bedroom in her day. My husband was up at six am to go to work. The first morning when I went in one curtain had been pulled across. I left the curtains open as usual the next night but the next morning both curtains had been closed.
Then returning home from a drink with friends one night there was a very strong smell of fried onions in the bathroom, which made me feel sick.
One morning I went into the kitchen to find a bulge in the ceiling over the sink. I called a plumber in who told me water had seeped down between the bath and the walls and had settled in the joists, he sorted it out for us and left leaving the metal steps leaning up against the wall in the kitchen between the lounge door and the pantry which went under the stairs.
Above the steps, well clear of them was a kitchen clock we had been given as a wedding present. The case was brown plastic and was three inches deep. The face was protected by a clear perspex cover. The clock was about twelve inches in diameter and had a nice clear face. The clock was hooked on securely to a nail in the wall, and it was battery operated.
After the plumber left I put my feet up in the front room with a cup of tea, and had a rest. All off a sudden there was a terrible crash in the kitchen, I thought the ceiling had fallen in. I ran into the kitchen to find the clock had been ripped off the wall and flung by an unseen hand across the the kitchen. The perspex cover to the face had fallen off and the whole battery casing was lying in the corner with the battery out of it nearby. It had obviously been thrown with some force. Feeling very shocked, I shouted out loud "If you think that funny I don't, pack it in." And I turned and went back to the front room, leaving everything where it was so my husband could see it when he came home from work. After that we did not have any more trouble. After our daughter Lynsey was born that December she slept in our room as it was a very cold winter. The first night she slept in her own room, I went to check on her and there was an overpowering gorgous smell of roses, the old fashioned sort that smelt so lovely. I called my husband up so he could smell it. It was as if Lilian, that was the spirits name was saying the roses are for the baby. We then realised that Lynsey was the first baby to come into the house since Lilian had been a child, she had been childless herself and life had not been kind to her. I often wonder if she plays the present owners up with her tricks, she obviously had a sense of humour. I would love to have met her before she died.
That was the only poltergeist activity I have ever experience but I do know when there is a presence in our flat. We have moved several times since then. We had a set of dining chairs which my daughter now has in her flat and she know when her Grandad (my Father) is arround because one of them creaks just as it used to when he sat on it when he was alive.
I have had various psychic smells from my Dad. Daffodils, which were his favourite flower to Apples and Apples pie.
My older half brother David died three weeks ago in Canberra, Australia. We had not seen him since 2000. We were as close as ordinary brother and sister, and I miss him terribly. I longed for him to send me a sign that he was ok, then I realised that the more I agitated about it the more it would not happen. So I forgot all about it and tried to carry on with my life.
About a week ago I woke in the early hours and saw it was light. There briefly for a second was a gold star suspended in front of me. I know I was not dreaming because instantaneously I said out loud " thank you David, I know that was from you." I know people will think I'm silly but I really believe David sent it to me to let me know he is with me. The fact that it was gold and a very bright one at that convinces me even more. After all the colour of love is Gold. The best thing is that after that all my anguish and pain over losing him disappeared instantly. Obviously I'm sad but I'm not distraught any more and I feel a lot calmer knowing he is with our Dad and the rest of the family, and that when my turn comes he will be there to meet me with my Dad.
When I was a Night Nurse in a Nursing Home, I was looking after an old lady who was dying. I had been talking to her and telling her to go towards the light. That her husband and all her loved ones would be there to meet her. All of a sudden she lifted herself of the pillow, looked at the wardrobe which was at the bottom of the bed and gave the most angelic smile I've ever seen. Then she lay down again and died, I knew then her loved ones had all been there to greet her.
In my experience if you are open to all things spiritual then who knows what will be revealed to you. If you have a closed mind then nothing will penetrate it. Lastly don't forget to thank God for everything he has given you and you may be surprised at what happens.
