Stop. Relax. Empty your mind and start with a clean slate. I am not saying that there is nothing going on upstairs in a man's brain, but as women we tend to have too many things going on at one time in ours. Men do not waste time on any information that is not immediatly useful to them. That is why they are not good at trivia, or games that focus on current events. To them its a waste of time, it's only important if its relavent to them personally.
When I mentioned "stop" it is a command for a women to stop talking, maybe stop nagging, and regroup. Because half the time we just sound like the adults in a Charlie Brown cartoon, "whaaa, wha, wha wha." Unlike women, men can tune you out with ease.
And I think thats why they don't remember some the conversations they have with us. And what you do not want as a women, girlfriend or wife, is to sound like their mother. Women find themselves talking down to men and treating them like kids. Even though that is what they act like sometimes, you are not going to get through to them.
And to relax is pretty obvious, because talking to men is fustrating. When the women realizes that what she is saying is going out the other ear, its not going to be easy for him. And let's face it, arguing is what women do best. We remember details, we can use examples, and use more words to express how we feel.
Then with your mind clear, start simple and stay simple. Keep to the point, and stay at the topic at hand. You can really lose a guy if you bring up something that happened six months ago. And I think that is when they tune out, they just learned that they lost the first battle. The faster you talk the more you lose them, and never try to have a meaningful conversation with the TV on, it doesn't matter if sports are on or not. Because men are back to trying to do two things at once and they are not going to chose you over the box with the pretty colors.
Women like to talk just to get it out, vent and release stress. Men don't want to talk, they vent and release stress by hammering something. Fix it, nail it, cut it! Problem solved. Men do have one trick up their sleeve and that is during the beginning of any relationship. And it doesn't matter if you are dating them or not. In the beginning, men appear to be listening and expressing themselves. Sometimes it's for real, but it is very difficult for them to keep it up for long periods of time. That's why later on in a relationship, women always remember the long talks together that were common when they met.
Men are not dumb, they weed out what is important and what is not. They decide quicky on what to spend their mental time on in a matter of seconds. They don't want to ponder on a problem or even have it brought up to them unless they can fix it. They let us do all the arguing, yelling, crying and they shut the waterworks off faster then a plumber. They are men.
