This Day, Forever
Joyful shouts are memories from
my own childhood
young children
noisy across our view, living
life, my tummy pushing forward,
hair balding, wearing a
hat in the coolness of this day.
these young ones escaping
mom's advice, bared
heads nor gloves
to warm their souls, quick glances
across the road before
leaping into new adventures.
We advance slowly my love and I
clutching one to another
oblivious to stares, hat and
gloves protecting the twilight of
our lives as we flavour
older conversation.

When you look at me
I know you see things
No body else can see
It's all laid bare
To your thoughtful stare
When you look at me
I'm
I drove alone today on a silver highway,
in the fast lane, same old song on my mind.
New chapter to begin, new tale to tell,

What is it you see
As you glance over at me
Am I everything I wish to be
Lovely, wild, careless and free
Am I, to you, simply

Can you see
When you look at me, I wonder what you see?
What could it be that makes you look at me.
Is it the years worn that now swarm
