At my house, chicken is a staple food that we always have on hand. We keep a variety of forms of it in order to provide a quick and healthy meal. My family likes to experiment with different dishes involving chicken which has become quite a lesson on the art of poultry around the world. But when the day comes to an end and dinner needs to be on the table quick, a classic low fat baked chicken is always a safe, yet tasty way to serve up the family. Here is my recipe for a simple low fat baked chicken. Enjoy!
Low Fat Boneless Chicken
Ingredients:
1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast or tenderloins
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil Garlic Powder Salt Pepper Tin Foil
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Take thawed chicken and pat dry with towel or paper towel.
Create pockets for the chicken out of the tin foil. Then place chicken in the tin foil pocket.
Drizzle the extra virgin olive oil over the chicken. Brush it evenly, if needed.
Sprinkle garlic powder, salt and pepper on chicken. The amount will depend on your preference. I enjoy a couple shakes per piece of chicken.
Close up the tin foil pocket and place on pan.Bake chicken at 375 degrees for approx. 30 minutes or until the chicken reaches 180 degrees with a meat thermometer.
Serve with steamed veggies and brown rice for an extra health benefit.
