Is there life after death? What is waiting for us? There are numerous beliefs and philosophies to follow. No one will know for sure until he or she dies. But what do I believe? Personally I do not believe in reincarnation. I do believe in channeling. Channeling is what happens when a person receives impressions, or possibly memories, from someone who has passed on. This is what I believe people are experiencing who think they are living a past-life regression. I do believe we have more than one life, but the next life is a spiritual one and we only spend one lifetime on the physical plain.

I have studied many religious views as well as general paranormal beliefs. What I am about to share with you is what I believe to be the most believable of those teachings. It is, of course, my opinion. But as I stated above, none of us will know for sure until we die.

There are different types of ghosts. They do not all come into being the same way. The first type is spirits. These are souls who have passed on, but who, for whatever reason, have come back to Earth. One of the main things that can draw a spirit here from the "next world" is when someone who is still alive attracts them by thinking of them, talking to them, or calling to them. For instance, when someone you love has died, and you go to their grave and talk to them, especially if it is something emotional, such as making an apology or begging forgiveness, this can draw their attention and bring them here. Another possibility some believe in is that souls may have some sort of mission to accomplish here. Some believe that the use of some tool, such as a ouija board, can call a spirit back to this realm for communication. Once here, the spirit may decide to remain. If this is true, it would be one proof of the danger of using a ouija board. You could bring someone back that you may not be able to get rid of.

The second type is a ghost. This would be a soul who is, for whatever reason, earthbound and who has not "gone into the light." Perhaps they have unfinished business, such as needing to let a loved one know where they hid their will; or more simply, to let a loved one know that they love them. Another ghost may be here because he does not even realize that he is dead. Still another may be afraid to pass on. Perhaps he had committed evil acts and is afraid of judgment. Or a woman has died and feels that her children still need her and remains out of a feeling of commitment and love. Reasons for staying earthbound
