Aquarium reviews: The New England Aquarium in Boston, Massachusetts

A trip to the New England Aquarium in Boston is a great experience for people or all ages. Growing up near Boston, it was a frequent destination with family, friends, and school trips. I don't know anyone who doesn't enjoy the excitment of the trip into town to look at all the different sea life!
Before you even enter the building, you are already in the sealife environment as the aqaurium is right on the wharf and the Atlantic Ocean lies ahead. Outside the aquarium building there are boats buzzing around and a seal tank.

When you first enter, you are greeted by the adorable penguins. They have an amazing pool environment set up and you can watch the penguins interact with one another, dive off the rocks and swim around. It is one of the most entertaining sights and I could stand there all day watching them as they are so cute.
As you proceed through the Aquarium there are many displays. There is a humongous spiral tank which you walk around as you climb to different levels. This huge tank has hundreds of different species, including some sharks. It is really fun to try to pick out the different species of sea life and try to figure out which ones are which. Also in this tank are the adorable Sea Turtles!
Another part of this aquarium is the hands on section. I think this is a favorite among visitors because you can actually stick your hands into the water and touch some of the sea life. They hand starfish, coral and other little creatures for you to get familiar with while learning about them.
This aqaurium has a really great setup with amazing displays. It is entertaining while educational at the same time. There are plenty of staff members around to answer all your questions too. There is even a little hospital for the sick sea creatures and you can watch them get treated.
Also at the New England Aquarium, they have a 3-D theatre show. It is extremely entertaining and I know that all little kids love to watch animals and fish come to life.
The aquarium wouldn't be complete without a gift shop of course! It is filled with sea life themed prizes and books that will always remind you of your trip to the Boston Aquarium.
This aquarium is not a place where you will become bored, I have been making trips there for the past twenty years and I still enjoy going. It seems there is always something new to look at and it never grows old for me. I hope other people enjoy going as much as I do, because it really is a great experience.
