Dancing is as if you have transformed into another person, not like the nine to fiver you are normally, but one of a sultry, sexy type most want to be like secretly, but would not admit it for anything out loud. The art of dancing begins with your mind, about eighty percent of dancing "is" mental, the other twenty is what ever you want it to be. Is it the show, the style or form, or you just wanting to show-off and make others wish they had your confidence and charisma and sexiness.

Good, comfortable shoes are so key to enjoying this art and loving every step. Get a leather shoe, Capezio's are known by many dancers and have some of the finest shoes available for the artist. Make sure you are happy with the color selection or perhaps do as I did, buy many pairs to match different dance costumes, or going out to night club outfits.

Second, your dancing wear whether you are on a dance floor at a school or at a nightclub should afford you with the same comfort as your shoes. For class get good leotards and tights that are color coded for each school. Usually Royal blue with pink tights or black with fleshtone does just fine. Now when it comes to dancing in the nightclub you want something that is going to express your own personal taste. I wore wrap around skirts with one of my leotards or would find skirts and tops that would flow with my choice of music. In fact, I would purchase the outfits I thought would not only look good but, would also "move" well. So, I brought them home and would turn up the speakers and dance in front of my mirrors to see how they would look to the beat of my music. If the clothes had character they were mine to keep, if not, they went back simple as that!

Now, your dance partner! Mine just happens to be my husband and can he dance. We have shared many nights and contests out, and taking home the cash in trophies, prizes and even new friends. One night we decided to go to see if we could improve our dance steps at one of the Author Murray Schools of Dance. The male business associate approached us and asked us what were we there for, as I just laid out for you, and he asked us what kind of music we preferred. My husband and I looked at each other, shrugged our shoulders, and told him anything would be fine. The associate picked the tunes and we began our movements.

Well, we started dancing and all of the other students there went to the walls and watched intently. We were just dancing our usual selves and everyone was smiling and keeping beat to the music. When the music was over, we had an ovation fit for a much grander attempt than what we had just exibited. Yet, they all were clearly pleased and some were actually chanting,"When are you two going to start teaching here, we want to be in your class?" We thought that this was good enough for us, so we just went out and danced everytime we had the opportunity opting not to choose classes but more just to have the fun. The fact that we love dancing and each other, is what made our dancing so wonderful to watch. And if I were still able to, I would be out there competing my heart out but, life has a way of throwing you curves. So now I write to express myself and to allow you to become a part of my fantasy and dancing. It is all in your head and aren't you glad? I was!
