The Restless Mind
As I close my eyes to sleep...
the room is dark...there's not a peep...
but some time later...I realize...
I'm still awake to my surprise.
My days are long and often hectic...
an interruption helped to wreck it.
Too many things I try to do...
and only accomplish..very few!
What is it that drives us to be so busy?
I go so fast...I'm often "dizzy".
Can't get these "things" within my head...
to "settle" once I get in bed.
Oh help me Lord...I often pray...
help me succeed most every day...
and take my worries from my sight...
so I may have a peaceful night!
I sometimes forget to pray...
and thank you, Lord, for everyday...
and now I pray ...my soul so deep..
to grant me peaceful, restful sleep!
Amen

In silent hours of my moonlit tear
Lifetimes I summon only you my dear
Our spirits mingle into the power of stars

by a streaking star and the glow of its beam

the palingenetic, deathless phoenix
ascends amidst roiling tongues of fire

Awakening while asleep, creates you to who you are.
Sleeping awakens life, to die from a wakening death.
From the very beginning,
I come to tell you goodbye,
and that dreams are only dreams,
and that I used to dream about loving you,
but I now I'm awake.
