It is not his wealth that makes him insincere about fighting poverty. It is his policies.
Raising taxes on a certian group of people or every one does not ease poverty. To end poverty the politician must get out of the way of those that want to work and as for those that don't want to work stop giving them hand outs.
John Edwards and the Democrat Party has the idea that in order to do away with poverty they must raise taxes. and the minium wage.. since the Democrats have taken over the house and senate the only thing they manage to do is to tell everyone that owns a business how much they have to pay their employs. Since then prices have gone up from the cost of food to gas and everything else.

Yet we are not to blame them for the price of things. People have lost their jobs due to employers not being able to afford the cost of paying the higher wage, also employers have not hired more people due to the same thing.
Things didn't start to go up by leaps and bounds until after they took over. The Democrats blame President Bush for the bad times when it is their policies.
John Edwards says that if you tax the rich and then tax them more and more. Yet in 1961 John Kennedy lowered taxes on everybody as well as Reagan and Bush.
John Kennedy lowered the top tax margin from 90% down to 50% and the economy took off. Johnson raised them and so did Carter and the treasury account went down. Reagan took office and he called for more tax cuts and the revenue to the treasury piled up again. He cut the top rate down to 30% and Bush 41 raised taxes and along with Clinton. (Clinton gave us the largest tax hike in history). If it wasn't for the Republicans (that held congress) holding down spending we would have had the same type of runaway inflation as we did with Carter.
Bush 43 cut taxes again and the economy and revenue to the treasury rose again and the Democrats yelled that the tax cuts were for the rich yet they are the ones that pay the most taxes out of pocket.
In order to get people out of poverty the polititions must cut taxes and get out of every ones way and quit punishing those that are working and and trying to earn a living.
To end poverty the people must stop thinking that the government owes them a living.
It has been said that if they would stop the with holding on ones pay check one would want to stop the income taxes.
Most people don't look at their pay stubs and see what is being taken out of their pay checks.
To show you how to look at things Start out with what you make per hour. multiply that by how many hours you work. Now subtract what they take out for fica and Social security and Medicare and Medicade now divide the remainder by the hours that you work and that is how much you accualy take home per hour.
So you see it is not John Edwards that make him insincere but his policies and his actions.
