Poetry: Remembering love

by Andrew Case

Created on: August 06, 2008

No words can describe this feeling
I will only speak in vain as
I feel my heart palpitations deep in side my chest.
I can remember love, I can taste it's sunshine.
Brightest love most savory to my mouth, I remember you dearly.
You nearly killed me, my deepest emotion.
Soldier of misfortune I have fell upon my own sword.
Victim of my own misguided spear and arrows, I furrow my brow at the sound of your name.
Why must you sing to me on the breath of flowers, mocking my very attempt of progress.
What is there to speak of destiny, when I am lying deep beneath the trenches.
In my mind it is wartime, and the battle rages on with every thought of you.
A faded picture behind broken glass, do you remember me?
Of course not it's been too long since I called you queen and I your king.
