If you believe that lobbying and other contributions in the form of cash and/or tangible property do not influence the behavior of our elected politicians, you most certainly are living within a World of your own making. Our Democratic form of Government doesn't work for the majority of the people within our society when such economic influence is exerted for the benefit of the richest people on Earth.
You see, for more than 40 years the rights, the jobs, and the living standard of the average person within the United States of America has decreased with each passing minute. That is due mainly to the support of powerful special interests who have, one way or another, influenced the behavior of our elected politicians.
"We People of the United States of America" now have to pay as much as 300% more for all of the things that keeps us healthy and alive, as a result of the more than 300% increase of the price of crude oil and other fossil fuels. Tens of thousands of small business owners now struggle to earn a living, while tens of thousands of people are in danger of losing their home.
Nearly 2,000,000 jobs within the last year were lost to Foreigners within Foreign Countries, as the owners and the controllers of those huge multinational corporations continue to close factories within the United States of America. They continue to build pollution spewing factories within other Countries where the labor is plentiful and as cheap as it can be.
To make matters worse, the value of the average single family home is only 75% of what it was a year ago, while the mortgage lenders continue to raise the interest rate for the ARM mortgages that they granted to thousands of home owners who would otherwise not qualify for the funds necessary to purchase a home at the time when they did receive such a mortgage by said Mortgagor.
As a result, the crime rate is rising faster than a kite in a hurricane, while hundreds of very well organized violent street gangs continue to recruit new members who are, in part, nothing more than some of the tens of thousands of illegal aliens who get into our Country each and every year. In order to remain healthy and alive people have to earn a living somehow. It seems that the only jobs available are within gambling casinos, the Internet, and whatever temporary part time job is available at the time.
Tens of thousands of the Citizens of the United States of America are now underemployed and earning far lass than they did a few years ago, in terms of both actual dollars earned and the purchasing power of each of those dollars. They are also spending less money or they are slowly sinking into a sea of debt, as they become poorer and poorer with each passing minute.
The fear of becoming homeless causes desperate people to do desperate things. For every available full time job there are more than an a hundred people who apply for the job. I wonder, how many of those people will have to move to another place if they do get hired for the job in question? More often than not, that new job is a life changing experience.
The retired people among us are the hardest hit by such increases in both prices and the crime rate. You better believe that the elected politicians within the Government of the United States of America will not increase the Social Security benefits given to those retired people by 300%.
I would be very surprised if those retired people got a 10% raise, while 20% of that raise will go to an additional cost for Medicare. You better believe that the cost for supplemental health insurance will also rise, because prices and wages are not downwardly mobile.
High wage earners are fired and replaced with people who work for less money, while their former employers continue to raise the price of the products that they make for future expansion and continued profitability. The end result is that the organized labor unions, as they continue to lose members, become a less powerful voice of the working man or woman within the United States of America.
As much as I hate to say it, it now appears that the richest people on Earth have waged economic war against the United States of America and its people. Well, all of the above truly serious problems are most certainly due to the failed policies of a Republican Administration within the Public Offices of the grand and glorious buildings of the Government of the United States of America.
For too many years those Republican Party Members and some of those Democratic Party Members have ignored the wishes and the needs of the majority of the people within our Country and you now see the result of that neglect. As a matter of fact, all of us might have to suffer the effects of the greatest economic depression since the time of the "Great Depression."
