It's that time again, gentlemen. Your wedding anniversary is fast approaching, and you're wondering how to surprise your wife for the occasion. Many husbands and boyfriends realize that flowers don't always make the most impactful statement where love is concerned. So here are some tips for choosing the right anniversary gift for your lady:

1) Tell Your Story- Every love affair is different. That means that you and she have a very specific history. If you've been through some trying times, this is the perfect opportunity to reflect on how the two of you have pulled together and come out on top. That being said, there is nothing wrong with trading cash for appropriate sentimentality. Create a "storybook," complete with photos capturing various happy periods in your marriage. Have the book bound and gift-wrapped professionally, and you'll have offered the perfect gift for your sweetie.

2) Take A Walk Through Her Closet- This suggestion might sound a little strange. But you might want to take a peek at some of the jewelry that she already owns. This little trek through her wardrobe will familiarize yourself with her style. Most women won't balk at being given a diamond they might not have chosen for themselves. But it will seem extra special if you can find a gift (jewerly or otherwise) to compliment her personal style. Besides, you want her to wear your present often, being reminded of your love each time she lays eyes on it (Awwwww) Even if you've just been dating for a while, and don't have that kind of access, paying attention to her accessories will help you immensely.

3) Create New Adventures- The best way to celebrate a relationship of past adventures is to create new ones. The traditional Lovers' Retreat is always a terrific option. But adventures do not always have to take place on sandy beaches or in top-notch resorts. In fact, the more avant garde your choice, the more she will remember the anniversary. Sign up for a day of horseback riding, and then a quiet dinner at a nearby inn. Search the unheard of nooks and crannies for places to celebrate your special moment. Your wife or girlfriend will greatly appreciate the effort you spent in trying to create a memorable experience.
