This one moment is all we have, so we need to live it for right now. Not yesterday, not tomorrow, but in the moment. We're only given one life, and it's up to us as to how we live it.
Yesterday is gone, never to be lived again. It's time to move on. You can hold onto your memories, but leave the rest behind. You've already lived it. There's nothing you can go back and change. Just learn from your experiences and let it go.
Do not look to tomorrow as it may never come. If you want to get technical, by the time tomorrow gets here, today's moment will be yesterday, and you didn't get to live it. Live for now. It may be all you have.
Too many people dwell on the past to the point of it being an obsession. They don't know how to let go, and it keeps a hold on them as long as they allow it to. It hinders any hope of seeing a future. You can't see ahead while you're looking back. The past is over, the present is now, and tomorrow is forever.
A lot of people plan way ahead into the future. There are no guarantees that it will ever come. Getting yourself too far ahead sets a lot of people up for future disappointment. Things don't always work out the way you had planned.
We planned a camping and fishing trip this summer, as it will most likely be our last. Our bags were packed and the trailer was stocked with food and supplies. We were full of anticipation and exitement for our trip.
The gas prices went up even more than what we had planned. The spring thaw hadn't peaked yet. The rivers were too high, and the lakes were too muddy. So we had to cancel our trip. Yes, we were disappointed, but if things don't work out, you have to be ready to handle it. Like I said, there are no guarantees. In our situation, we felt it was better to be safe then sorry.
Live one day at a time, and if you can't handle that, live one minute at a time. That will be your moment. Every minute of your life should count for something. I was deep in thought last night. As I was getting ready for bed, I thought to myself, When I get into bed to go to sleep, this is one more day of my life that I have lived. Now it's over forever.
As I wake up to the morning light, I always thank God because He's given me another day. I take my day's one moment at a time because that's all I have. I may have a lot more moments, and I may not. I plan on living every moment that I have been given. And I will live it to the fullest.
Don't ever waste precious time. Life is way too short. Live now, don't put off till tomorrow, what it is you want to do today. This is your moment. Go for it.
