Best blogs by women writers

Created on: August 05, 2008

Women writers have something to say. Not to say that the men do not, but women have something different to say. A different angle, a different way of going about it. (Unless you're Ann Coulter, then you might just end up talking like the men.) That said, where do you go on the internet to find the best blogs written by women?

There are blogs all over the internet written by women. Women really do have something important to say. The best place to start is where you might just typically think to start - women's sites! There are numerous websites geared toward women from parenting websites, career websites, websites specific to women writers, women's magazines and just about every aspect of life where women are involved, you are sure to find a site dedicated women in that area.

A great way to find blogs written by women is to look for sites that are specific to women writers. Websites such as the National Association for Women Writers (naww.org) can help you find women writer's and their websites which contain blogs by the writers. This not only opens you up to where to find women writers but also women writers who write in many different genres, styles and issues.

A really fun website to check for blogs written by women is BlogsByWomen(blogsbywomen.org) where you can find women from all walks of life writing about just about anything. The website guarantees that "Each blog is approved by hand to keep low quality blogs, splogs and those stinky boys out." You can even set up an account and write one yourself (if you are a woman of course!) if you are inspired enough by your visit to their site!

In all honesty a good search for "blogs by women" on google will turn up a plethora of websites including blogs by all kinds of women. There are blogs by women who work in specific industries, blogs by black women, blogs for Australian women, blogs for Russian women, blogs by single mothers, blogs specific to religion and just about any topic you can think of.

Women really do have something to say. It used to be the stereotype in films and on television to see teenage girls talking on the phone or women who can't seem to stop talking. If you fall for that sort of image, then perhaps the internet has given women another place to let it all out. Maybe it is just another way for women to be heard and there are so many places out there for you to start listening.
