What's the best medicine? It's exercise!

Exercise is one of the most important ways of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and the good news is that you don't have to run a marathon to reap rewards. It has been proven through a number of studies that all that is required is a 30 minute workout, 3 times a week, for most people to see concrete and lasting results.

Our bodies are amazing instruments that require daily physical exertion in order to maintain or improve our level of conditioning. If we live an active lifestyle, the chances of acquiring many obesity related conditions is reduced significantly. Diabetes, osteoporosis, hypertension, and cholesterol levels are just a few examples of physical maladies which can be positively influenced by exercise, and there is truth to the saying that a healthy body makes a healthy mind as physical activity can also help to reduce the onset of emotional illnesses such as depression and even your stress level.

It is now standard practice for many doctors to advise their patients who suffer from any of these maladies to undertake a consistent exercise regimen which will result in weight loss and a healthier body mass index, so that body fat is reduced and replaced with lean muscle. This is an important ingredient for a healthy body as muscle burns more calories than fat, and it also helps to make physically demanding tasks much easier as you gain muscle strength and endurance, which are natural bi-products of an active lifestyle.

As your physical being is transformed from the effects of exercise, so too is your mental and emotional well-being as you look in the mirror and see a confident and smiling image that is delighted in the knowledge that this was accomplished with a bit of effort and personal determination, and not simply by some magic little pill that many people think might exist.

Because in reality, exercise is that magic little pill. Can you imagine if someone offered you a substance that made you look and feel younger, helped to reduce debilitating physical conditions, reduced the effects of allergies, made that sore back feel better, and even helped to give you a great night's sleep! I don't know about you, but I'm sold.

And all of that is at your disposal, once you make the decision to embark on a consistent exercise regiment that might include some of your favorite activities like biking, swimming, or even golfing without using a cart. It's really that simple, but it all starts with that all important first step. And you're the only one that can make it.

So remember, the benefits of exercise far outweigh the sedentary lifestyle that many people in the modern world fall victim too, and which results in so many unnecessary illnesses or physical negatives that can be reduced or eliminated entirely, with just a bit of exercise. Now that's a magic pill we should all be taking.
