Gregory Jack Biffle was born in Vancouver, Washington on December 23, 1969. He now resides in Mooresville, North Carolina. Back in 1990, his racing career began by racing in Skip Barber races. He raced overseas in Britain and Europe in the early 1990s. He came back to the USA in 1996 and raced in the NASCAR Winter Heat Series, where he caught the eye of former ESPN announcer and successfull NASCAR driver Benny Parson. Benny then told Jack Roush that there was no way he could pass up not choosing Biffle to race for the Roush Team.
Greg Biffle then started racing for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, where he took the Rookie of the Year honor in 1998 for Roush Fenway Racing. In 2000, Biffle won the series title, making that his first championship in a major NASCAR series. In 2001, Biffle ran four truck races for Jack Roush. 2004 was the last year that Greg Biffle ran in the truck series.
Even though Biffle drover the Barbasol Chevrolet Monte Carlo in a Busch Series race in 1996, he did not official begin full-time Busch racing until 2001. That year he won the Rookie of the Year award, and won five races. He continued racing for the Busch Series.
In 2002, Greg Biffle began driving for the NASCAR Winston Cup Series, which is now known as the Sprint Cup. He began full-time Winston Cup racing in 2003. His first Winston win was that year in Daytona at the Pepsi 400. He ended up ending the year 20th in points, and was second place in the running for Rookie of the Year.
2005 was the year for Greg Biffle. He tied second in the Nextel Cup points running. He had six big wins that year, including wins at Darlington, Pocono, The Brickyard and Watkins Glen.
In 2006, Biffle won two races. He struggled that year, but is hoping for a comeback. In 2008, Biffle will be racing in #16 3M Ford Fusion for Roush Fenway Racing.
Greg Biffle has quite the entertaining personal life. Off of the track, Greg Biffle loves to fish. He likes deep sea fishing in Mexico and has a factory sponsored Luhrs fishing boat. Greg also used to own a pub called "Biffle's Pub and Gril" in Vancouver, Washington. He was married to Nicole Lunder in 2007. Greg was a guest co-star in the NBC comedy show "Yes, Dear." He also appeard in the movie "Talladega Nights" and helped cook some steak on the Food Channel with Paula Deen.
Greg Biffle and his wife Nicole have a non-profit organization called "The Greg Biffle Foundation." They assist animals by donating to places such as Humane Societies , no-kill animal shelters, and another other organizations that promote well treatment of animals.
