It's that time of the year again. You know, your anniversary. The question is what should you get her? Last anniversary, your gift did not go over so good and now you have to try again. But don't panic, every man is able to get a great anniversary gift. You just have to put a little bit of thought into it and let her guide you to it.

Some of you may be asking, 'How do I let her guide me to a great anniversary gift?'. The answer is simple, just listen to her. Most if not all women will tell you exactly what you need to know over time. The secret is paying attention to her when you are having your day to day conversations. Maybe it's that new cell phone that all her friends have, maybe it's a new ring in the jewelry advertisement.

For most women, the cost of a gift is meaningless to them. It is more about how much thought you have put into the gift and how much you have listened to what they really wanted. A ten dollar gift that was really thought out and showed her how much you pay attention to her is a much better gift than the $500 ring that she does not really like.

A simple idea for a mom is to get a picture of all the kids and put it into a nice frame. Maybe have the kids decorate the frame themselves and make it something from the heart. For a relationship without kids involved, try creating a nicely framed original poem that you wrote just for her. If she is big on word puzzles, get her a calendar with daily word puzzles. If she likes jewelry, get her the ring she was looking at in the weekly flyer.

Just remember, when in doubt listen to what your partner tells you. And just importantly, do not wait until the last minute or you will not have time to get her what she really wants. It takes time to figure it out. Now, start listening and planning and get her that great anniversary gift!
