Gnamien Konan was born and raised in Toumodi a small town located in the central part of the Ivory Coast, on December 9th, 1953. Later, he moved to Abidjan, where he graduated from University of Abidjan in 1980.

He went on to earn an Engineering degree in Data processing Management, in Paris in 1982, where he had several internships and work experiences. In 1997, he moved to Belgium and studied at Brussels School of Customs. He returned to the Ivory Coast to work as the general director of customs, where he served for seven years.

Gnamien works well in collaboration with others. Quietly efficient, with his intricate eye for details, he makes an exceptional executive, able to run a business like well-oiled machine. A strong will and good organization ability combined with his other talents brought his work as the general director of the Ivorian customs to a successful conclusion.

Gnamien has a bright outlook on life, is enterprising, full of energy and vitality. This is an ambitious, optimist citizen, who, nothing seems to get down.
He is idealist, and this seems to keep him going even when there are disappointments which smash his plans. He has a tendency to get over zealous when he is interested in something.

This is a believer, who is willing to fight for what he believes in, and also possesses both loyalty and independency which he manages to balance. Gnamien is usually modest and often spiritual with strong values. Here is a profound thinker, with a great deal of foresight and good judgment.

It has been the varied experiences of Gnamien Konan's life - growing up in different places with people who had differing ideas - that have animated his political journey. It is In March of 2008 that he declared his candidacy to the Presidential Election and three months later he created the Ivorian Movement for Revival and Hope. With a new vision for his country, Gnamien believes the time has come for a change; a change that he is willing to bring by working hand in hand with all Ivorian.

Gnamien is someone who has an open mind, a good sense of humor, sincere and straight forward in any dealing. The sagacity, moral integrity, and philosophical understanding of this man are legendary. Noted for his shrewd discernment, Gnamien is knowledgeable, wise, visionary, and communicative as well.

But above all his accomplishments and experiences, he is most proud and grateful for his family.
