Affirmations improve self-esteem by building a person's sense of self worth. It is important to feel good about one's self and to have a positive outlook on life. There are many ways that someone can do this for themselves and others that are free and easy to do.
I am a strong believer in giving compliments. They are free, easy to use and a great way to make someone feel good. If someone is wearing a great new outfit there is no reason not to let him or her know. Eating a great meal is a good time to compliment the chef. If it is your spouse it might encourage him or her to cook more often which doesn't hurt. Meeting someone with big beautiful brown eyes why not let them know how good they look. Compliments never hurt anyone and will usually create good feelings being returned to the sender.
It is always nice to receive compliments. Being told what a wonderful job you did makes you want to work harder. It is always better to live up to high expectations than to sink down to low ones. Finishing a difficult job gives a great sense of pride and accomplishment that feel incredible. And of course no one wants to stop hearing what a great job they do.
Talking about people behind their back in a positive way instead of a negative way enhances your reputation. No one wants to be the back stabbing gossip hound. A good reputation is hard to get and easy to lose. When people see you as a good friend and a person who can be trusted it is a strongly positive affirmation. Sometimes avoiding people is necessary to build positive feelings of self worth. If a person is always laying guilt trips on you, insulting you, talking behind your back, putting you down and disrespecting you, avoiding that person, even if it is a family member is important. By staying away from that type of negative energy you are not allowing someone to bring you down and lower your self-esteem.
Being in a relationship is a wonderful affirmation that builds self-esteem. Seeing a significant other looking at you with love can put someone in a wonderful moment. It creates a warm, safe and loving environment that makes a person feel good about themselves and everyone around them. Just knowing that someone loves you is the greatest feeling on earth.
Shopping is a great way to feel good about yourself. Dining in a great restaurant or indulging in some chocolate is always a great mood enhancer. Feeling good creates positive energy which in turn creates a positive feeling toward one's self.
Building up self-esteem is something a person has to do for themselves. They have to be open to positive influences and know how to avoid negative ones that bring them down. Giving yourself a clap on the back and saying job well down will always make you feel good. Positive affirmations are something we all need to help us go through our lives making it far more pleasant than it would be without them.
