I have spent years looking for myself, lost in a world of confusion and loneliness. Like a blind man on the edge of a cliff, I step away from eternity not knowing which way to go. My mind tormented, internal pain is today's special, served cold and hard, forced down my throat by the world's inquisition: "Who are you?"
Searching the hallowed halls of education, I sit quietly at the back of the class. I have nothing to say; I am unsure of any knowledge I've obtained. Perhaps, it has slipped away. Alone and unseen, no one shakes my hand. No one asks: "What's up?" No one wants to know me. I feel like a social recluse, not yet conformed to the challenges of school, not molded enough in style. Perhaps, I am too old to be young and too young to be old.
Then I kneel at the altar of the world's spirituality, crying to the heavens for answers, only to hear the echoing sound of my own voice bounce back from the ceiling. Sadly, it is lost amidst a million drowned at the sea on a similar quest: an ultimate search for peace, love, and serenity.
Tripping the lane of matrimony I am blinded by something I desired so badly only to have it shattered when one's real self emerges. Something holy and sanctified, but only to find it's tainted and defiled. My dreams and visions are destroyed in its defilement.
Where shall I go to find peace, to find love, or to find myself?
There...in those two sets of tender eyes, lost in the gentle waves of comfort, swaying back and forth in their gentle lull, I have found my Eden. There...in my Eden...there are no boundaries set for me. There, I am more than just a lost soul, more than just a student, more than just a tool, more than just a love. There, I know me. There, I recognize myself!
Though in these eyes I carry no great title the world would know: President, Doctor, Prince, or hold no position of importance: movie star, rock star, sports figure, and though I carry no hefty bank account, these eyes carry the most important title in this world: Dad! In this title, I am found!
